We are blessed with a wonderful bunch of talented children and youth at SAKLC. To let all know of awards, accomplishments, honors, etc. received by the “younger” members of our family of faith, a Youth in the News bulletin board will soon be in place. We are asking our children, youth, and their parents to submit items of interest for display on the bulletin board. A box to receive these items is on the table in the Narthex hallway. Thanks for your help!
Our youth program is for teens interested in faith, fun and fellowship. Throughout the year, we plan many different activities that focus on prayer, Bible study, Christian living, music and FUN! The group also takes part in community based activities like Habitat for Humanity and other special mission projects both in Sarasota and elsewhere. There is a little something for everyone. We invite you to join us whether you are a member of the church or not.

Meet Our New
YOUTH
DIRECTOR
Hello!
My name is Debbie Leslie, and I am so excited to be a part of St. Armands
Key Lutheran Church as the new Youth Director.
A
little bit about me follows:
I
have a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology, and I am a Registered Clinical
Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine,
Registered Massage Therapist, and have over 15 years of experience in coaching
and teaching swimming, cycling and running.
I have been in
sports all my life and really enjoy the endurance sports, (competed in Ironman
Hawaii World Championship and have cycled across France).
I have worked in Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, Injury Prevention/Rehab,
Aquatic Therapy pre/post joint surgery and arthritic conditions, Fibromyalgia
programming and with athletes looking to improve their performance.
I
was born in Chicago and moved to Sarasota about 3 months ago from Dallas.
In Dallas, I was involved with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and really enjoy
working with youth. Through my
business, my goal is to help people establish their goals and educate them on
what they need to do in order to accomplish them, while still keeping a positive
balance in their life with a positive attitude and enjoying the Journey of Life. I pray that my enthusiasm will cross over to the youth, and
they will find their light to shine God’s love unto others.

WITH
DEEP GRATITUDE
Ten
years ago last October, Team Spirit provided leadership for the first Service of
Joy at SAKLC. What a blessing this
fine praise team has been to the worship life of our congregation. A number of folks have shared their talents as part of this group and the
efforts of all have been truly appreciated. Pioneers,
those who were involved in the early day who are still with Team Spirit, include
Lois Mellor, Rev Voth and Marilyn Haglund. We thank them and all who have been and are in this talented bunch of
brothers and sisters in Christ.
Those
here last October were asked to speak personally to Team Spirit members to
express gratitude for their tireless efforts. That request is presented once again, especially to those who are with us
at SAKLC seasonally.
Be sure our friends know how much they are appreciated.
