What Is Social Ministry?
St. Armands Key Lutheran Church in dedicated to using the gifts God has given us to help those in need. The Social Ministry team is designed to seek out and help those organizations in our community equally dedicated to that cause with volunteer and finance assistance. Currently, Social Ministry has relationships with many area organizations.

List of Organizations
Agape Aviation, All Faiths Food Bank, Bethesda House, Cyesis, Community Foundation, First Step, Gifts from God, Guardian Ad Litem, Harvest Tabernacle Food Bank, KIDS by the Sea, Lighthouse for the Blind, Lutheran Outdoor Ministries of Florida, Lutheran Services of Florida, Mary House, Mayor's Campaign, Mothers Helping Mothers, Magnolia Health Nursing Home, Resurrection House, Salvation Army, Samaritan's Purse, Sarasota Medical Pregnancy Center, Second Chance/Last Opportunity, SPARCC Services, and WSMR Christian Radio.

Social ministry also spearheads programs of direct assistance. One such program is the Dresser Ministry, designed to aid needy families with newborns with much needed supplies. Please contact us if you have any questions about our Social Ministry Program.

All Faiths Food Bank
Their mission is to feed those in need, reduce food waste, and educate the community as to the issues of hunger.  They are located at 717 Cattlemen Road in Sarasota.  During the summer and fall months, they are always in need of volunteers to help with the sorting of food items for distribution to the community.  Contact them at 379-6333.

All Faiths Food Bank needs our help now, more than ever as the need for food is rapidly increasing during these hard economic times.  The majority of those receiving food are hard-working families who simply cannot make ends meet.  They are parents in minimum-wage jobs, the elderly on fixed incomes, and children who not only face the prospect of going to school on an empty stomach, but of going to bed on one, too.
