SAKLC FOUNDATION YEARLY FUNDING

Some of our church members have asked about how the Foundation decides on who and how much individual financial aid is granted each year. The answer to both of these questions lies in the Foundation’s mission and vision statements. As you can imagine there are hundreds – no, thousands of organizations out there who need financial assistance each year.

Grant requests are evaluated by the Foundation trustees at an “early in the year” meeting. Requests must fall into the parameters of the Foundation’s By-laws. Requests are discussed and an approximate dollar amount is assigned. At a subsequent meeting or meetings, after the trustees have had time to consider each request, a decision is made based on need of the recipient. The grantee is then notified.

All funds designated for distribution are not disbursed at once; but some monies are held for emergencies or special situations occurring later in the year. Funding provided by the Foundation find their way to organizations in Sarasota, other Florida locations, Mexico, India, Bethlehem, or wherever there is a need of the poor, the hungry, the sick, or the underprivileged.
