Music

Music was a very important part of worship in the early Church.  It is  equally important to the worship life at SAKLC.

Check out what the Music Department of SAKLC has to offer!

MUSIC  CORNER

Have you ever thought about how many events in the Scriptures were accompanied by music?  There was the dedication of the temple, trumpets at the battle of Jericho …. There were angels that appeared in the skies to announce the birth of Jesus.  That must have been an amazing sound.  As one who loves music, it certainly makes me wonder why more people didn’t hear the song?  The endless song of “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”    This was a time when the land was filled with travelers coming and going … being counted for the census… the inns were full.  And what about the shepherds?  Could they have been the only ones to hear the song that was sung by the angels?  How could so many have missed the greatest musical event of all time?

Well, I think they were just too busy.  Just like us in our world today.  We are all so involved in our jobs, families, joys, and struggles.  Sometimes too busy to hear the song God sings to us; the song of his promises.  As we approach the manger, and the celebration of our Lord’s birth, we are reminded not to let the clamor and noise of the season drown out the voice of God.  This year, as we listen for his promises, let us truly hear the angels sing.
